Operations Manager – International Aircraft Turn (ATL)

Position Summary
National Aviation Services (NAS) is seeking a highly driven and experienced Operations Manager to oversee our International Aircraft Cabin Cleaning Contract operations at ATL. This role is responsible for leading all aspects of aircraft servicing during international turnarounds, ensuring operational excellence, safety compliance, on-time performance, and exceptional service delivery aligned with customer expectations.
This position requires strong leadership in a fast-paced, 24/7 airport environment, with direct oversight of frontline teams, supervisors, and operational execution tied to international flight schedules. This position requires open on-site availability to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Execution
- Oversee all aspects of international aircraft turn operations, including cabin cleaning, servicing coordination, and turnaround readiness
- Ensure all flights are serviced safely, efficiently, and within contractual SLAs and airline expectations
- Lead, coach, and develop Supervisors, Leads, and frontline team members
Staffing & Workforce Management
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels aligned with international flight schedules and operational demand
- Manage hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and workforce planning
- Ensure timekeeping accuracy and compliance with wage and hour regulations (ADP)
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA, FAA, TSA, CBP, and airport authority regulations
- Enforce all safety protocols in sterile and secure areas, including SIDA compliance
- Conduct daily safety briefings and ensure incident prevention measures are in place
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for airline partners and airport stakeholders
- Maintain strong relationships with customer leadership, ensuring alignment and responsiveness
- Address and resolve operational challenges in real time
Quality Assurance & Performance Management
- Conduct routine audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company SOPs and customer KPIs
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and operational efficiency
- Manage performance through coaching, corrective action, and accountability
Financial & Operational Controls
- Monitor labor costs, overtime, and operational expenses to meet budget targets
- Review daily operational and financial reports and take corrective action as needed
Equipment & Operational Readiness
- Ensure all equipment, supplies, and vehicles are operational, properly maintained, and compliant
- Maintain readiness of staging areas and operational zones supporting international turns
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in aviation operations, preferably aircraft cleaning or ground handling
- Strong understanding of airport operations, international flight requirements, and turnaround processes
- Demonstrated ability to lead large, diverse teams in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and workforce/timekeeping systems (ADP preferred)
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Aviation Management, Operations Management, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3+ years of management experience in aviation, airport services, or logistics
- Equivalent experience may be considered
Work Environment
- 24/7 operational environment including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Combination of ramp, terminal, and office settings
- Exposure to weather conditions, aircraft operations, and high-noise environments
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, and movement across operational areas
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
