This is a direct hire, full time, on-site position based in Atlanta, GA.

Position Overview:

The Operations Support – Domestic role is responsible for coordinating and supporting domestic freight movements from our production facilities and third-party warehouses to customers and other distribution locations. This position works closely with carriers, internal teams, customers, and external logistics partners to ensure shipments are scheduled, documented, tracked, and delivered accurately and on time.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment where priorities can change quickly. This role provides an opportunity to work across multiple areas of domestic transportation operations while helping identify and resolve issues that impact service and delivery performance. This position is intended for someone who wants to grow with the company and has the ability and desire to take on additional responsibilities and leadership opportunities over time.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule domestic freight shipments to support on-time delivery and customer requirements.
  • Receive and review shipment orders, determine appropriate transportation options, and assign shipments to qualified carriers.
  • Coordinate the movement of finished goods between production facilities, distribution locations, third-party warehouses, and customers.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain transportation and shipment documentation, including delivery notes, transfer orders, shipment records, and related paperwork.
  • Prepare and provide domestic freight quotes based on shipment details, equipment needs, pickup and delivery requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Monitor shipments from pickup through delivery and proactively communicate status updates, delays, and exceptions to appropriate internal teams and customers.
  • Work with carriers and transportation providers to obtain competitive rates and make sure quoted costs are accurate.
  • Review shipment details and identify the best transportation option based on service, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Work closely with carriers and logistics service providers to resolve scheduling, delivery, service, and shipment-related issues.
  • Serve as an operational point of contact for carriers and internal departments regarding shipment status, service concerns, and delivery exceptions.
  • Investigate shipment complaints, delivery issues, and claims. Coordinate follow-up with the appropriate parties through resolution and closure.
  • Take ownership of operational issues from identification through resolution, ensuring timely follow-up and providing effective solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve transportation processes, reduce costs, increase efficiency, and enhance service levels.
  • Assist Customer Service with order status inquiries, delivery updates, special requests, and other customer needs.
  • Monitor inventory and shipment information using the company’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system or other applicable systems.
  • Identify recurring transportation or operational issues and assist with implementing process improvements to improve efficiency, service levels, and overall customer experience.
  • Review logistics procedures and recommend practical improvements to management when opportunities are identified.
  • Maintain accurate and timely shipment information within applicable systems to support operational visibility and reporting.
  • Coordinate with multiple internal locations and external third-party facilities to support the reliable and timely distribution of customer orders.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with carriers, customers, internal teams, and other key business partners.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in the freight forwarding, transportation, logistics, or related industry required.
  • Experience with domestic freight operations, transportation coordination, shipment scheduling, carrier management, and shipment tracking preferred.
  • Experience with freight documentation, delivery exceptions, claims, and/or customer service in a logistics environment preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in logistics and supply chain or a related field is a plus.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to follow issues through to resolution.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple shipments, requests, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with carriers, customers, internal departments, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn and navigate transportation, ERP, and other logistics systems.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. 

Schedule: 8-hour shift (Monday to Friday)

Work Location: On site

Work authorization/security clearance requirements:

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must pass TSA eligibility screening

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29 to $33.65 Per hour
