Job Description Summary

The Asset Enhancements Services (AES) Projects Engineer will make immediate contributions working with an energetic, diverse team of engineers performing Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) fuel, safety, services, and thermal hydraulic analyses supporting a variety of applications. This position will have responsibility for executing the asset enhancement projects for the existing operating fleet to demonstrate compliance with licensing requirements and deliver engineering analyses supporting AES Projects such as Extended Power Uprates (EPUs), Maximum Extended Load Limit Limit Analyses Plus (MELLLA+), Thermal Power Optimizations, and other AES Engineering Analyses.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Ā 

  • ProvideĀ engineeringĀ analysis project leadershipĀ on a production-oriented engineering analysis team.Ā 
  • Ensure on-time delivery of thorough andĀ accurateĀ engineeringĀ analysis, technical reports, correspondence, documentation, and calculationsĀ supportingĀ AESĀ work.Ā Ā 
  • ProvideĀ day to dayĀ oversight and schedule maintenance forĀ engineeringĀ activities, implementing delivery meetings and oversight as necessary to ensureĀ reliable deliveryĀ ofĀ high qualityĀ analyses.Ā Ā 
  • Working in tandem with the plant Technical Leader, manage and executeĀ solutions to complex technical issues for internal and external customersĀ that arise during reload analyses.Ā 
  • ProvideĀ andĀ facilitateĀ technical mentoring to support transient analysis staff development and knowledge management.Ā

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Ā 

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, or similar)Ā 
  • Minimum ofĀ 4Ā years of relevant experienceĀ in a technology or engineering roleĀ

  • The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters Wilmington, NC but qualified remote candidates will be considered.Ā 
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.Ā

  • Extensive knowledge of BWR Systems and integrated plant response.Ā 
  • Extensive knowledge of the fundamental principles of nuclear engineering such as nuclear physics, thermal hydraulics, and mechanical design, as applied to BWR.Ā 
  • Experience with standard engineering work planning and design process techniquesĀ 
  • Honesty andĀ a high levelĀ of personal integrity.Ā 
  • Demonstrated strong personal commitment, accountability, and determination.Ā 
  • Ability to communicate with credibility and confidence.Ā 
  • Strong drive for continuous improvement.Ā

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $89,300.00 and $148,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
