The Project Manager provides operational, administrative, and strategic project management support for CDC public health programs and initiatives. The position is responsible for coordinating projects, monitoring schedules and deliverables, facilitating communication among stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with CDC, HHS, and federal policies, procedures, and contractual requirements.

This role supports multi-disciplinary teams and collaborates with CDC staff, contractors, grantees, and external partners to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality project execution in support of public health objectives.

  • Develop project strategies, timelines, work plans, and implementation schedules.
  • Coordinate and monitor project activities, milestones, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Provide technical direction and administrative guidance for assigned CDC programs and projects.
  • Facilitate collaboration between CDC offices, contractors, grantees, and partner organizations.
  • Support the development and management of cooperative agreements, contracts, NOFOs, and procurement packages.
  • Prepare status reports, briefing materials, meeting summaries, and action tracking logs.
  • Monitor project risks, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate meetings, conference calls, workshops, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Maintain project documentation, tracking systems, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to leadership regarding program progress and operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure activities comply with CDC, HHS, and federal regulations and standards.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports and final reports documenting project accomplishments and outcomes.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Project Management, Health Administration, Communications, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience supporting CDC, federal, or public health programs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholder engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Experience supporting CDC or HHS contracts and initiatives.
  • Knowledge of grants management, acquisitions, and federal procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with Section 508 compliance and federal records management requirements.
