Summary


ID3 Group is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Project Manager to join our Atlanta team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in custom fabrication, scenic, or tradeshow production and a proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.


This role requires strong follow-through, multitasking, and communication skills, as well as the ability to anticipate challenges, take initiative, and pivot when timelines or priorities shift. The Project Manager is responsible for maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring project milestones are met, and keeping all departments aligned from design through final installation.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee projects from inception through completion, ensuring quality, cost, and schedule objectives are met.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams across design, engineering, purchasing, fabrication, graphics, paint, and installation.
  • Read, interpret, and apply information from blueprints and shop drawings to guide project execution and resolve issues.
  • Develop, monitor, and update project schedules; identify when progress falls behind and take proactive steps to get timelines back on track.
  • Order materials and supplies in coordination with purchasing; verify delivery and inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date project documentation, including schedules, meeting notes, purchase requests, and change orders.
  • Lead and participate in kick-off, progress, and close-out meetings with internal teams and clients.
  • Track, document, and communicate change orders and project updates promptly and accurately.
  • Evaluate and mitigate risks to ensure each project stays on time and within budget.
  • Ensure consistent follow-up with all departments to maintain accountability and project momentum.
  • Review project results and provide final job closure documentation and reporting.

Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, design drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Strong initiative and accountability, must take ownership of project outcomes.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across departments and with clients.
  • Proven ability to pivot quickly and re-prioritize when timelines shift or challenges arise.
  • Skilled in follow-through and follow-up to ensure tasks are completed and deadlines are met.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and calm under pressure.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of project management experience in fabrication, scenic, theatrical, tradeshow, or event environments.
  • Hands-on knowledge of construction techniques for scenic elements, event structures, and permanent installations.
  • Familiarity with industry fabrication methods: carpentry, metalwork, paint, graphics, and tension fabric.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of project management systems and best practices.
  • Theatrical or experiential design background strongly preferred.

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based with regular visits to the fabrication floor and client sites as needed.
  • Exposure to shop environments that may be noisy or dusty; PPE required when on the floor.
  • Frequent collaboration with internal and external stakeholders in-person and virtually.
  • Occasional travel to project sites, vendor locations, or industry events.

Physical Demands

  • Extended periods of computer and desk work.
  • Standing and walking required during floor visits and meetings.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of light materials or equipment.
  • Must be able to visually review drawings and communicate clearly in meetings.
  • Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases.
