Job DetailsJob Location: Atlanta Speech School - ATLANTA, GA 30327The Rollins Center for Language & Literacy at the Atlanta Speech School EARLY LEARNING/PK-5 FACILITATOR Job Summary: The Rollins facilitator is a key member of the implementation team responsible for driving the transformation of language and literacy practices across the continuum, birth-to-grade 5.  Facilitators provide professional development, coaching, modeling, and consultation to strengthen instructional quality and assessment practices to leaders and educators, ensuring tiered instruction and interventions are effectively implemented.  Working collaboratively with early learning directors, district leaders, principals, and instructional coaches, the Facilitator builds teacher capacity through professional learning and ongoing support, creating opportunities that significantly enhance educators’ knowledge of language and literacy practices and positively impact children’s literacy outcomes. Guided by the Rollins Center coaching and implementation models, this position plays a critical role in establishing literacy infrastructure at both the system and classroom levels, ultimately changing the trajectory of students’ lives through improved language and literacy development.    Essential Job Duties: The Language and Literacy Instructional Facilitator directly supports district leaders, directors, teachers, and all child-facing adults in Birth to Pre K settings to strengthen language and literacy instruction through a cohesive coaching ecosystem that supports adult learning and sustainable practice. Through embedded, field-based coaching, the Facilitator collaborates with partners to support system-wide implementation of early language and literacy best practices aligned to Cox Campus content. Using data to guide coaching plans, set goals, and adjust support based on child outcomes, the Facilitator engages in-person, virtual coaching, professional development, models effective instructional practice, and builds partner capacity to sustain and scale strong practices beyond direct support. This work is grounded in the components of the nine essential ecosystem elements that build the foundation for literacy and justice for all:   Safe and responsive climate   Culturally responsive and sustaining environments   Consistent routines, rituals, and transitions   Children as conversational partners   Integrated planning and instruction around an anchor book   Focus on emergent literacy   Observation and progress monitoring   Strong partnerships with families   Other responsibilities of the Facilitator include: Presenting early learning content at local and national conferences Facilitating online Cox Campus community groups Collaborating with the Cox Campus content team to create/revise early learning content Facilitates and supports family engagement initiatives and community events focused on language and literacy   Coaching Implementation: Build and sustain collaborative relationships with district and school-based leaders and educators and community partners Collaborate with partners to design and implement coaching plans that support instructional improvement, sustainability, and continuous growth Ensure alignment with structured literacy and connect the ecosystem elements to the PK-5 equitable literacy outcomes Utilize evidence-based coaching practices and adult learning principles to design, deliver, and refine coaching supports, including leveraging video coaching Implement coaching cycle to: Model effective instructional strategies and clearly explain evidence-based language and literacy practices Support through guided practice opportunities Observe instructional practice through classroom observations to identify strengths, areas of growth, and language and literacy priorities Engage partners in reflective debrief conversations throughout the coaching cycle and determine next steps Partner with teachers to implement effective progress monitoring practices, analyze student assessment data, and make data-informed adjustments to instruction and learning activities to improve student outcomes Use child outcome data and instructional evidence to inform coaching plans, instructional decisions, and organizational next steps Create, review, and discuss director and data reports to inform instructional shifts and improvements   Professional Development Facilitation: Develop and implement collaborative structures with educators and community partners to support implementation of sustainability and continuous improvement Facilitate data-informed conversations that support educators and leaders in interpreting child and teacher data to guide instruction and coaching decisions Design and facilitate professional learning aligned to evidence-based language and literacy practices, Cox Campus content, and coaching goals Create professional learning materials, engagement activities, and supporting resources for professional development sessions and national conferences Collaborate with center leaders and coaches to plan and support professional learning and coaching efforts that strengthen language-rich instruction and promote best practices for adult learning Research/Professional Development: Stay current on the latest research and best practices related to structured literacy, early childhood education, curriculum and instruction, professional learning, and instructional coaching Engage in ongoing professional development to strengthen coaching practice and content expertise QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education, Speech Pathology, Adult Learning, or related field 10+ years of prior work-related experience in K-5 educational programs and/or programs for language and literacy Experience with implementing data-driven instruction methods and progress monitoring of child outcomes. Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent public speaking skills Action-oriented, collaborative, flexible, and innovative approach to coaching and mentoring Proven leadership skills and the ability to understand the comprehensive language and literacy issues of young children in a variety of settings Preferred School-based teacher training and coaching experience desired Physical Demands and Work Environment: The Rollins Center is a hybrid workplace, with both in-person and site-based work, as well as remote work. The Facilitator will work at the Rollins Center at the Atlanta Speech School, as well as have the opportunity to work remotely from home when possible.  Some travel can be expected to national conferences. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a staff member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach.
