About the RoleĀ
We areĀ seekingĀ a passionate and knowledgeableĀ Senior Product ManagerĀ withĀ a strong foundationĀ in accounting, finance, or financial software to join our CoStar Real Estate Manager and Visual Lease teams. In this role, you will help shapeĀ cutting-edgeĀ Financial, Accounting, and Portfolio Management solutions used by thousands of companies worldwide. A core focus of the role isĀ leaseĀ accounting compliance,Ā including standards such as ASC 842, IFRS 16, and GASB 87,Ā though candidates with adjacent accounting or financial software experience are strongly encouraged to apply and will be considered competitively.Ā
This is a full-time,Ā in-office position based in either Iselin, NJ or Atlanta, GA.Ā
Key ResponsibilitiesĀ
Develop Deep Accounting Domain Expertise:Ā Organize and share best practices related to corporate lease accounting processesĀ
Stay updated on lease accounting rulesĀ establishedĀ by domestic and international financial accounting governing bodies,Ā leveragingĀ AI research tools to efficiently synthesize regulatory updates andĀ identifyĀ emerging trendsĀ
Leverage research and other educational contentĀ
Engage key customers, prospects, service partners,Ā analystsĀ and industry subject matter experts (āexternal stakeholdersā) to keep a pulse of lease accounting best practices and common needs and roadblocksĀ
Engage key internal teams such as Sales, Support, Implementation and Alliances (āinternal stakeholdersā) to understand the impact of persistent lease accounting roadblocks and needsĀ
Document and share updated best practices internally and externally as neededĀ
Maintain Backlog:Ā Capture, groom lease accounting backlog items and inform prioritization decisionsĀ
Serve as the primary point of contact to collect and prioritize all feedback related to lease accounting functionalityĀ
Capture and continuously update backlog details for all Lease Accounting-related items so they reflect relevant insights from stakeholders and market researchĀ
Use analytics tools and AI-assisted pattern recognition to track product performance, surface trends across feedback sources, and drive improvementsĀ
Provide prioritization recommendations to Product Leadership toĀ optimizeĀ business value, aligning customer demands, regulatoryĀ needsĀ and company goalsĀ
Design Release-Ready functionality:Ā Design easy to use, effective and scalable lease accounting functionality to address market needsĀ
Document and share all technical requirements, using AI writing tools to accelerate drafting and ensure consistency across requirement artifactsĀ
Collaborate with Product Designer to meet internal design requirements while addressing user needsĀ
Work with Product Leadership to approve designsĀ and requirementsĀ alignedĀ with business goalsĀ
Partner with Engineering to ensureĀ accurateĀ execution and conductĀ functionalĀ testing for iterative improvementsĀ
Quality Assurance & Acceptance TestingĀ
Develop clear acceptance criteria andĀ adviseĀ onĀ testing plansĀ
Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) and work with QA teams toĀ identifyĀ and resolve defectsĀ
Ensure Adoption: Enable successful lease accounting product adoptionĀ
Lead feature demos using realistic lease data. Communicate technical requirements clearly to internal teams in-person or virtually. Expose and address release risks.Ā
Recommend implementation and training approaches and ensure materials capture technical detailsĀ
Work with Product Marketing to ensure GTM materials accurately capture functionalityĀ
Gather feedback from internal stakeholders toĀ determineĀ customer acceptance and alignmentĀ
Monitor and analyze adoption using user analytics (Pendo) and support cases (Salesforce) post-release, applying AI-assisted analysis toĀ more quickly identify patternsĀ in customer issues and surface high-impact backlog itemsĀ
Basic QualificationsĀ
A bachelorās degree isĀ requiredĀ from an accredited, not-for-profit, In-personĀ University or College.Ā
5+ years of directĀ or indirectĀ experience in accounting, lease accounting, financial reporting, or compliance roles.Ā
5+ years of experience as a Product Manager, ProductĀ OwnerĀ or Business AnalystĀ
Familiarity with financial reportingĀ and disclosures, audit processes, and regulatory compliance requirements for public and private entities.Ā
Comfortable working with engineering teams to effectively bridge the gap between technical needs andĀ businessĀ needs.Ā
Ability to translate complex functional requirements into clear, actionable tasks.Ā
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both business and technical audiences.Ā
A track recordĀ of commitment to prior employers.Ā

Preferred QualificationsĀ
Product Manager, Product Owner, or Business Analyst experience in accounting, financial reporting, ERP, or financial software; lease accounting experience is a plus but notĀ requiredĀ ā candidates with adjacent domainĀ expertiseĀ are strongly encouraged to apply.Ā
Masterās degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field or CPAĀ
