About the Role

Hello, Special Education Teachers! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Full-Time Special Education Teacher for a school setting in Metro Atlanta area. In this role, you'll play a critical part in student success by implementing specialized instruction, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring compliance with IEP goals and student progress.

Available placements include Interrelated Resource (IRR) classrooms serving students with mild to moderate disabilities and Self-Contained MID/MOID classrooms supporting students with more intensive academic, behavioral, and functional needs. This is a great opportunity for both experienced special education teachers and those new to school-based settings.

  • Caseload within the Metro Atlanta area

  • Interrelated Resource (IRR) Teacher

  • Self-Contained MID/MOID Teacher

  • Full-Time – Starting July 2026

  • 1.0 FTE, Monday–Friday

What You'll Do

  • Provide specialized, IEP-driven instruction across academic, behavioral, and functional domains.

  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with student IEP goals and individual learning needs.

  • Assess student progress and maintain accurate data, reports, and compliance documentation.

  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, school staff, and families.

  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to support student access to the general education curriculum when appropriate.

  • Create and maintain a structured, supportive learning environment that promotes student engagement and positive behavior.

  • Support students with daily living skills, including toileting, feeding, mobility, and health-related needs, as required by the assigned classroom.

  • Ensure compliance with state and district guidelines for IEP development, timelines, and implementation.

What We're Looking For

  • Hold a valid Georgia Professional Educator Certificate in Special Education, or be eligible to obtain Georgia certification.

  • For Interrelated Resource (IRR) positions: Georgia Special Education General Curriculum P–12 certification required.

  • For Self-Contained MID/MOID positions: Georgia Special Education Adapted Curriculum P–12 certification required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution.

  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

  • School-based experience preferred but not required.
