Overview

The Cathy Family Office exists to serve the Cathy Family and family enterprise as owners of Chick-fil-A, Inc. through facilitating stewardship of resources and tools to maintain a healthy enterprise and family.

 

This position will leverage their knowledge of accounting to help oversee financial statement preparation for 60+ entities. The ideal candidate has strong leadership abilities, a forward-thinking and collaborative mindset, and demonstrates excellent relationship-building skills with direct reports, leaders, and peers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the reporting of the Family Enterprise financial statements
  • Lead the team responsible for the accounting on various enterprise assets, liabilities, revenue and expenses
    (including capital assets)
  • Serve as final review for all Family Enterprise reporting (60+ entities, varying types of entities)
  • Directly oversee GL account reconciliations prepared by team
  • Compile insights and commentary for monthly and year-end financial statement packet provided to family and to leadership
  • Oversee identification and mitigation of Internal Assurance risks specific to financial reporting
  • Provide oversight on accounting policies specific to team's responsibilities
  • Oversee preparation of work papers and address auditor questions and requests for annual financial statement
    audit
  • Oversee partners/consultants and serve as relationship manager for banking relationships
  • Use GAAP and not-for-profit accounting expertise to partner with the business to provide strategic direction for various projects and new initiatives across the business
  • Identify improvement opportunities and work optimization efficiencies for the Cathy Family Office Accounting Function

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or equivalent work experience
  • CPA
  • 10+ years of experience
  • 3+ years of people development and leadership experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including a mastery of Excel
  • Financial acumen; strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Deep knowledge of accounting principles
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and review
  • Strategic and forward-thinking mindset
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting all deadlines
  • Self-motivated; desire to continually improve outputs and meet all deadlines
  • Strong organizational, communication and collaboration skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally with other leaders
