We are seeking a full-time Stormwater Engineer to join our team in Atlanta, GA, supporting projects across neighboring municipalities.  Design experience in stormwater design projects is preferred. Some travel to neighboring cities is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform professional and technical civil engineering work in the design, construction, and maintenance of public works facilities.
  • Supervise and inspect minor construction and maintenance work on roadways, storm drains, sidewalks, or other public works projects,
  • Prepare the design for simple public works projects
  • Prepare exhibits and descriptions for easement and right-of-way agreements
  • Inspect construction materials in conformance with specifications
  • Respond to requests from city residents
  • Identifies potential follow-on work and pursues those concepts with Project/Senior staff members
  • Provides concise, clear written documentation of activities in the form of field logs and notes, technical memoranda, and sections of technical reports, as required
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or a related field
  • 4-8 years of experience (including internship experience)  in construction, surveying, design, traffic engineering, inspection, or estimating
  • EIT preferred
  • Stormwater inspection and construction oversight experience is highly desirable.

Physical and environmental considerations:

  • Occasionally walk on uneven terrain at construction sites
  • Indoors and outdoors 
  • Work around traffic and automobile fumes
  • May be subjected to dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, and intense noises

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as various market and business considerations.

US Pay Range
$70,000—$100,000 USD

Full-time employees receive a well-rounded benefit package including access to our company-sponsored Medical (including an HSA High Deductible option), Dental, Vision, FSA, and Supplemental Life Insurance plans. We also offer 100% company-paid Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability coverage. Employees are eligible to participate in our company's 401(k) plan with up to a 4% match. Additionally, employees receive paid vacation and sick time, 11 paid holidays, and are able to participate in employee ownership options. MacKay pays for expenses associated with licensure as well as annual performance bonuses.

Employment requires passing a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
