JOB SUMMARY:

Are you passionate about working with and empowering youth? Join The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro ATL as a Summer Program Instructor and make a lasting impact! We're looking for enthusiastic individuals to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging space where young people can learn, grow, and thrive.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 
Prepare Youth for Success
  • Foster a welcoming and supportive environment where all youth can thrive.
  • Encourage participation and engagement in programs.
  • Guide members in understanding programs, program areas and equipment, Club safety, and expectations.
  • Serves as a positive role model for Club members.
 
Program
  • Assist with program delivery.
  • Communicate plans and help to recognize youth participation and achievements.
  • Observe activities and bring concerns to the instructor’s attention.
  • Assist and maintain records to track attendance and participation.

 

Other responsibilities 

  • Participates as part of a team to run quality programs by helping where needed or directed.
  • Participates in training/educational opportunities to expand knowledge and skills.
  • Ensures a productive work environment by participating in weekly Club staff meetings.
  • Supervises and train volunteers and program assistants

 

 

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

 

  • Experience working with youth through volunteering, school, or work is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

 

ENVIRONMENT & WORKING CONDITIONS:

Daily contact with Club staff, members, outside organizations, and individuals to plan, coordinate, and deliver programs. The ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing more than 25 lbs. Travel to special events, field trips, outdoor work, and moderately physically demanding activities may occasionally be required. Must be able to work afternoon/evening hours; occasional weekend hours may be required.
