JOB SUMMARY

The Superintendent is responsible for leading field operations involving crane lifts, on-site equipment setting, and complex rigging activities. This role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution in alignment with company engineering procedures and industry best practices. The Superintendent oversees crew safety and performance, supports job planning and execution, lift planning and review, and represents the company professionally on customer sites. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and a proactive approach to training and operational improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Model and promote the company's Core Values in all aspects of work and leadership.

Lead the safe execution of crane and rigging operations in the field, ensuring regulatory compliance with lift plans, equipment load charts, company established standard operating procedures (SOP’s), and company safety standards.

Participate in pre-job walks and assist sales and project teams in developing lift strategies, identifying risks, and estimating equipment durations.

Collaborate closely with engineering and project management to review lift plans, rigging configurations, and on-site equipment placement.

Attend project handoff meetings to understand scope, schedules, and performance expectations; communicate critical information to crews.

Work with dispatch, maintenance, and yard teams to coordinate crane mobilization, rigging gear, trucking, and equipment inspections.

Conduct pre-lift meetings and job hazard identification; actively manage jobsite risk throughout daily operations through alignment to ProLift’s WRA process.

Assign tasks to rigging and crane crews with clear safety and productivity expectations; monitor execution and provide real-time direction.

Support company and DFW’s licensed engineers in the planning and execution of field assessments, equipment testing, and inspections.

Assist in the operation, calibration, and maintenance of scientific and mechanical equipment.

Ensure crew qualifications align with the scope of work, including crane operator certifications, rigging credentials, and relevant experience.

Promote high standards for rigging practices, signalperson communication, and equipment care.

Identify opportunities to improve lift execution, minimize downtime, and reduce wear on equipment through proper use and planning.

Encourage innovation and continuous improvement from team members; share suggestions with management for process enhancements.

Provide fair and constructive feedback when assigning work or coaching team members; address issues promptly and professionally.

Mentor crew members in developing their skillsets and obtaining qualification cards related to crane operation and rigging.

Maintain a positive and respectful relationship with customers, vendors, and general contractors on-site.

Build and sustain high morale on the crew by leading with integrity, consistency, and a strong commitment to safety.

Participate in formal evaluations of field personnel and contribute to career development discussions with management.

Successfully conduct internal and external meetings focused on lessons learned, method success, efficiencies and inefficiencies, and scope success

.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Authorized to work in the US.

Microsoft suite programs

Ability to pass the company required Physical Abilities test, Drug and Alcohol program, Background check, and customer/contract required programs.

Valid driver's license

Theoretical knowledge of scientific principles and practical experience supporting professional engineers.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work under the supervision of a licensed professional.
