Lead transformative traffic engineering projects while shaping the future of our regional practice as a Traffic Group Lead. In this pivotal role, you'll mentor and orchestrate engineering teams through complex traffic design and operations projects for state DOTs and municipal agencies, while serving as a trusted client advisor and developing the next generation of traffic engineers. You'll combine deep technical expertise with strategic business development to deliver exceptional projects on time and within budget, building lasting partnerships that strengthen communities and expand our presence across the region.
What You'll Do
- Function as the central point of coordination between clients, design teams, contractors, and stakeholders
- Serve as a go-to expert, providing technical guidance and support on traffic studies and design projects
- Lead high-impact project teams developing innovative design approaches, and ensuring seamless project and task management, maintaining the highest standards of engineering excellence and client service
- Serve as primary client contact, building and maintaining strong relationships with state DOTs and local public agencies
- Drive business development efforts including pursuit leadership, client meetings, and proposal preparation
- Ensure quality control of all deliverables while managing budgets, schedules, and proactively mitigating project risk
- Mentor engineers at all levels, supporting their development into confident, independent professionals
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of employment, or eligibility for reciprocal licensure
- 15+ years of traffic engineering experience on GDOT projects with proven project and staff management capabilities. Local government experience in Georgia is desirable
- Strong track record in client relationship building and business development
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite and Bluebeam / Adobe Pro
- Adaptable and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset as well as a proactive approach to problem solving
- Servant leader committed to fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence while developing others
