Job Purpose

Manage the supply chain and operations elements of end-to-end product lifecycle management to support the delivery of the category strategic plan. Assist with new product introductions, product enhancements, and new technology implementation at assigned production facilities. Develop and recommend capacity and capability strategy necessary to achieve both short- and long-term category objectives.

Essential Functions

• Represent Supply Chain in Category team for all new and enhanced products and programs; develop and recommend technical strategy to ensure program objectives meet the product category strategic plan and resources are strategically deployed against business priorities

• Provide technical assessment and recommendations concerning the feasibility of new or enhanced product development projects

• Support speed to market initiatives for improved launch timelines of new initiatives

• Assist R&D with production trials and lead first production as appropriate

• Partner in preparation of capital proposals and development of the CEA documents for new products and existing product portfolio

• Establish and communicate operations-related project requirements for scope, financials, resources, and timing to all functional areas

• Partner with manufacturing facilities to communicate Category strategy, provide recommendations, and develop appropriate plans to deliver objectives

• Work collaboratively with Operations and Supply Chain to properly manage new product availability during the launch phase

• Identify solutions to supply chain issues (including new products and sales samples) and provide technical support to sales as required

• Ensure plant readiness for plant production runs and align handoffs from R&D Product Development Manager to the plant

• Work with Plant Management and Financial Controllers to establish estimated run rates, conversion costs, and crewing for new or enhanced products

• Generate operational savings through productivity and logistics optimization projects

• Develop and maintain expert knowledge of Rise Baking Company’s product portfolio

• Support food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured product

 Perform other job-related duties as assigned


Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience; Master’s degree desired

• 4-7 years of work experience in engineering, manufacturing, or product development

• 2-4 years of experience in project or program planning

• Supply chain and operations experience desired

• Cross-functional management experience and/or experience in a teaming environment

• Skilled in Microsoft Office

• Industry knowledge desired

• Proven ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team

• Solid understanding of financial metrics

Broad business understanding and a strong technical background in new product programs

• Experience and reputation for successfully managing people and being able to coordinate the efforts of a diverse group

• Strategic leader and decision maker

• Excellent writing skills with the ability to present complex business issues

• Customer-focused mindset
