Position Summary

The primary role of this position is to support the Chief Real Estate Officer and the Real Estate Group in managing various division and agency-wide projects required to meet real estate development, compliance, and/or financial requirements. The Senior Operations Project Manager will serve as a key contributor for the division’s operations, benchmarking, reporting, information management, and other cross-functional projects within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish relationships with various partners in concert with Atlanta Housing staff and departments in a cross functional environment to improve Real Estate operations.

  • Leverage knowledge and experience of operational, financial and business functions to improve Real Estate Group operations.  Engage with various staff in identifying current and future state processes, generating recommended solutions, establishing deliverables and timelines, and orchestrating associated projects to completion.

  • Compile the annual goals and objectives, budgets, as well as financial projections for Atlanta Housing real estate activities. 

  • Responsible for the entry, updating and on-going management of data specific to Atlanta Housing real estate activities.

  • Research and explore additional innovations and ideas that could be considered for future revenue generating opportunities for the agency.  

  • Provide written reports and measuring key performance indicators to the Chief Real Estate Officer as well as other leadership. 

  • Prepare periodic reports as needed for internal and external management reporting as required by executive leadership, senior management and others.

  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business, marketing, real estate administration, finance or other related field, and generally five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience.  

  • Work requires demonstrated leadership performance in positions of increasing responsibility, independent decision-making and judgment, communication and organizational skills.  Can marshal resources to accomplish results and orchestrate multiple activities; blend people into teams when needed and establishes clear directions.

  • Demonstrated analytical and project management skills in a large organizational environment with demanding annual housing production goals. 

  • Strong judgment, decision-making and analytical reasoning abilities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Other job-relevant certifications, affiliations and memberships are a plus.  

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Requires a high energy level, must be comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with normal activities. 

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and writing skills for executive communications, presentations, facilitation and project reporting. 

  • Requires a high-level commitment to customer service and the ability to identify and solve problems with limited information.

  • Responsible for analyzing industry best practices to ensure the agency is maintaining a competitive edge.

  • Must be able to demonstrate organizational, analytical and time management skills and display the following aptitudes: communication, problem solving and conflict resolution.  

  • Must be able to function in a dynamic environment subject to impromptu changes in schedules and priorities.

  • The ability to provide team leadership for project activities in cross functional environment is necessary.

  • Must demonstrate judgment, tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers.

  • Must have the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships and to interact positively and productively with teams across organizational lines, including administrative and executive staff.  Required to give attention to detail and critical thinking skills.

  • Requires functional proficiency with technology used on-the-job to include Microsoft Office Suite and proprietary software,

Working Conditions

Work is normally conducted in an office environment.  However, some field work may be required for project management activities.  Out-of-town travel may be required only on occasion
