NATURE AND SCOPE:Â
Â
Under direction of the Afterschool Director or Youth Development Director, the bus driver is responsible for the safe transportation of all campers and staff while in route to and from Y Day camp locations and off-site events.Â
Â
RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):Â
Teach the basic skills of courtesy and safe driving to campers in a safe and respectful manner.Â
Take attendance and provide safety information at the start of each trip.Â
Inspect the vehicle for all safety guidelines and regulations.Â
Follow all traffic regulations and guidelines and drive in a manner that ensures the safety of their passengers.Â
Carry out daily program tasks related directly to the position's scope and responsibility.Â
Maintain branch and association certifications in CPR, Metro Atlanta YMCA for New Staff Orientation and Branch Emergency procedures and any other required certifications and/or training required by the Metro Atlanta YMCA.Â
Responsible for maintaining and reporting incident/accident paperwork.Â

Attend the designated dates for camp staff trainingÂ

REQUIREMENTS:Â
High School Diploma OR GEDÂ
1+ years of experience working with children in a structured settingÂ
Must be at least 21 years of ageÂ
Required certifications current First Aid/CPR; must obtain within 30 days of hire as well as any other certifications required for the positionÂ
Pass a criminal background and drug screening checkÂ
Pass a Motor Vehicles Record Check and have own transportation Â
CPR within 30 days of employment and maintain throughout employmentÂ
Exemplify YMCA ideals, leadership qualitiesÂ
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsÂ
Strong customer service skills and personal commitment to service and hospitality.Â
Pass background checks, BFTS background checks, and drug screeningÂ

ERGONOMICS:Â
Ability to work actively while supervising children.  Ability to climb, walk, run, stoop, squat or kneel. Ability to lift and carry equipment to appropriate destinations or affect the carrying of such equipment.  Ability to use senses which enable safe supervision including seeing and/or hearing. It's fun to work in an organization where people truly BELIEVE in what they are doing!Â
