BASIC PURPOSE:
 

The Senior Platform & DevOps Engineer plays a critical role in enabling the continuous, reliable, and secure delivery of technical solutions across the Bank. This position blends Linux platform engineering, software development, and DevOps engineering to design, automate, and operate resilient infrastructure and delivery pipelines.
The role partners closely with teams across IT Software Delivery, Information Security, Platform Engineering, and Operations to implement scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions that support both on-premise and cloud-based applications and services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Enables the continuous, reliable, and rapid delivery of technical solutions across the Bank through automation and modern DevOps practices.

  • Designs, develops, and improves DevOps tools, pipelines, and processes in partnership with internal IT teams and external vendors.

  • Contributes to operational excellence through improved observability, automation, and incident reduction.

  • Collaborates with managers and technical leads across Software Delivery, Information Security, Platform Engineering, and Operations to design and implement optimal solutions.

  • Implements and maintains infrastructure as code (IaC) across on-premise, hybrid, and cloud environments using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

  • Researches, evaluates, and prototypes new platform and cloud technologies to improve performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.

  • Designs, implements, and maintains automated certificate lifecycle management solutions, including certificate issuance, renewal, rotation, and revocation across on-premises and cloud-based environments.

  • Supports platform security by assessing, prioritizing, and remediating vulnerabilities across Windows and RHEL servers.

  • Advise IT leadership on strategic technology direction by evaluating emerging tools and practices related to platform engineering, DevOps, and automation technologies.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess relevant facts, identify alternative approaches, and supply recommended solutions to management.

  • Hands-on experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows with Jenkins and similar tools.

  • Demonstrated expertise with configuration management / automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

  • Experience working with virtualized infrastructure in enterprise environments (e.g., VMware or equivalent platforms).

  • Strong experience engineering, troubleshooting, and operating solutions on Linux platforms (RHEL or equivalent) in enterprise environments.

  • Practical knowledge of container technologies and best practices, including Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Experience collaborating across infrastructure, security, and application teams in a regulated or large-scale environment.

  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in information technology and five years of relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.

  • Must be skilled with Jenkins, Groovy, Git, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Maven, Ant, and Linux.

  • Puppet, Chef, Terraform, and OpenShift are highly desired.

  • Must have knowledge of cloud platforms, including Azure, AWS, and/or Google.

  • Experience with hybrid-cloud or multi-cloud architectures preferred.

  • Familiarity with vulnerability management and compliance processes in enterprise environments preferred.

Work Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Atlanta, GA office. This position may not be filled in New Jersey, either in-person or remotely.

Work Schedule: Onsite with an opportunity to work remote partially.
