Your New Role...Ā 

Warner Bros. Discovery is seeking aĀ Manager, Product DesignĀ forĀ NCAA / March Madness Live (MML)Ā within theĀ Sports and EntertainmentĀ organization. NCAA Digital serves passionate college sports fans through cross-platform experiences spanning the broader NCAA ecosystem, including NCAA.com, the NCAA app, and March Madness Live. These products support fans across a wide range of collegiate sports, while also playing a critical role in one of the most iconic and high-intensity moments in sports: the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments.Ā 

Reporting to the VP of Product Design, this role will manage and mentor a team of Product Designers while helping shape cohesive, fan-centered experiences across the NCAA / March Madness Live ecosystem. This role requires deep knowledge of sports, strong familiarity with digital sports products, and a clear understanding of sports audience behaviors, fandom, and live-event consumption patterns.

The ideal candidate also brings familiarity with the NCAA landscapeĀ -Ā including college sports fandom, school and conference loyalty, tournament behaviors, bracket culture, and the urgency and emotion that define March MadnessĀ -Ā and can translate that understanding into product experiences that resonate with fans.Ā

The Work...Ā 

Product Design Leadership & VisionĀ 

  • Help shape the design vision and strategy for NCAA / March Madness Live while driving execution of new and existing digital products and featuresĀ 

  • Foster a high-performance team culture grounded in creativity, accountability, collaboration, and excellence in craftĀ 

  • Lead with a deep understanding of sports fansĀ -Ā particularly college sports fans,Ā including their behaviors, emotional drivers, loyalty patterns, and expectations across live, social, and on-demand experiencesĀ 

  • Bring a strong understanding of the NCAA audience and March Madness fan journey, and advocate for fan-centered product decisions that serve the speed, emotion, and intensity of the tournament experienceĀ 

  • Present and advocate for product design ideas and solutions to senior leadership with clarity, confidence, and strong rationaleĀ 

  • Use customer insights, analytics, experimentation, and competitive understanding to inform product direction and design decisionsĀ 

  • Drive high-quality product design work across the full lifecycle, from concept through launch and iterationĀ 

  • Help ensure the team consistently delivers differentiated, fan-first experiences that reflect the urgency, excitement, and cultural relevance of live college sportsĀ 

Cross-Functional PartnershipĀ 

  • Build strong partnerships and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Research, Editorial, Content, Marketing, Brand, and key business stakeholdersĀ 

  • Partner cross-functionally to align design priorities, solve complex product challenges, and deliver impactful fan experiencesĀ 

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand goals, priorities, constraints, and success metrics, and translate that understanding into clear, effective product design decisionsĀ 

  • Navigate cross-functional and business dynamics thoughtfully to build alignment,Ā establishĀ trust, and move work forward effectivelyĀ 

  • Balance user needs, technical feasibility, brand expression, and business priorities to deliver cohesive, high-impact experiencesĀ 

  • Build shared understanding across teams by communicating clearly, incorporating diverse perspectives, and aligning stakeholders around product direction and design rationaleĀ 

Qualifications & Experience...Ā 

  • 7+ years of experience in product design, UX, or digital design, including experience in team leadership or people managementĀ 

  • Experience managing and developing designersĀ 

  • Strong experience designing consumer-facing digital products, ideally in sports, media, streaming, or other real-time content environmentsĀ 

  • Deep knowledge of sports audiences, including fan behavior, content consumption habits, live-event engagement, and platform expectationsĀ 

  • Strong familiarity with the NCAA landscape, including college athletics, school and conference loyalty, seasonal rhythms, tournament structures, and the distinct behaviors of college sports fansĀ 

  • Familiarity with the March Madness Tournament experience, including bracket culture, live game-following behavior, upset-driven momentum, multi-game viewing patterns, and the need for real-time updates, scores, highlights, and seamless navigation during peak momentsĀ 

  • Familiarity with digital sports products and the broader sports media landscapeĀ 

  • An exceptional portfolio of shipped digital workĀ demonstratingĀ strong product thinking, high-quality execution, and the ability to create compelling fan experiencesĀ 

  • Strong ability to work within and evolve an existing brand universeĀ 

  • Experience with design and prototyping tools, especially Figma and Adobe Creative SuiteĀ 

  • Experience creating products across a range of digital platforms including web, mobile, connected TV, and emerging platformsĀ 

  • Experience working in agile, cross-functional teamsĀ 

  • Experience managing design resources, prioritization, and team workflowsĀ 

  • Experience working with design systems, including scalable component-based design practices across teams and platformsĀ 

Preferred...Ā 

  • Experience designing for live sports, brackets, scores, highlights, second-screen, stats, tournament coverage, or socially driven fan experiencesĀ 

  • Experience with motion, prototyping, or storytelling tools that help bring concepts to lifeĀ 

  • Strong understanding of personalization, notifications, content discovery, or fan engagement patternsĀ 

  • Experience designing for tentpole live events with high traffic, high urgency, and fast-changing content needsĀ 

  • Passion for sports and strong instincts for what resonates with distinct fan bases and communities, especially college sports audiencesĀ
