YOUR MISSIONS

  • Supervisory Duties

 

    • Manage a team of Tax and Payroll Processing specialists.
    • Manage client communications and updates.
    • Ensure the team is adhering to and following Payroll/Tax processes and operational tasks.
    • Execute day to day activities when required/needed in support of the team.
    • Escalate operational issues to leadership as appropriate.
    • Make recommendations and implement operational improvements.
    • Participate in sales support activities.
    • Ensure the team is appropriately trained and has knowledge to executed tasks.
    • Provide updates to leadership on performance.

 

  • Payroll Team Accountabilities

 

    • Ensures accurate and timely processing of weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payroll.
    • Prepares pre and post-processing payroll reports and distributes them to managers for reconciliation and approval.
    • Audits/reconciles time and attendance data for clients.
    • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information and responding to inquiries via email or phone.
    • Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests promptly.
    • Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.
    • Maintains client confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping sensitive information confidential.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
    • Maintains accurate payroll records, ensuring compliance with regulations.
    • Processes voids/reversals, stop payments, and returned bank items efficiently.
    • Processes off-cycle payments promptly as needed, ensuring timely disbursement.

 

  • Tax Team Accountabilities

 

    • Manages tax software, implementing new features and updates to optimize efficiency.
    • Responsible for filing all tax payments/returns with all applicable frequencies accurately and on time.
    • Calculates all appropriate adjustments, deductions, and credits in collaboration with clients.
    • Maintains current tax rates or frequencies for clients to ensure accurate filing and payment.
    • Calculates form preparation fees based on return complexity and processing time required.
    • Responds to related tax correspondence and conducts research to resolve issues as they arise.
    • Maintains tax filing spreadsheets detailing returns to be completed, dates, and special client considerations.
    • Assists clients in registering their business with applicable tax agencies.
    • Registers with state reporting agencies as new clients are added for payroll processing.
    • Checks data input and verifies totals on forms prepared to ensure correct tax form completion.
    • Performs any other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the payroll department.

 

 

YOUR PROFILE

 

 

  • Ability to managed a team of payroll/tax specialists.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing.
  • 3-5 years of tax-specific experience required.
  • Experience with Federal, Multi-State, Local Withholding, and Unemployment Tax Forms Filings.
  • Strong communication and writing skills to interact with various departments and outside reporting jurisdictions.
  • Autonomous work environment: Ability to work as a self-directed, independent worker.
  • Strong desire to be a strategic partner with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Office products.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to dig into details and draw insights from data to assist customers.
  • Experience with SuccessFactors Payroll is preferred.
