About the Role:

The Forklift Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials within a warehouse or distribution center. This position is responsible for operating various types of forklifts and material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport goods accurately and promptly. The operator will contribute to maintaining inventory accuracy by assisting with order picking and using RF scanners to track shipments. Safety and compliance with operational protocols are paramount to prevent accidents and damage to products or equipment. Ultimately, the Forklift Operator supports the overall supply chain process by facilitating smooth warehouse operations and timely order fulfillment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid forklift operator certification or license in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Proven experience operating stand up forklifts and pallet jacks in a warehouse or industrial setting.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse safety protocols and material handling procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret order sheets, labels, and inventory documentation.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, standing, and operating machinery for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with RF scanner technology and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Familiarity with clamp trucks and stand-up forklifts.
  • Previous experience in order picking and inventory control.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts, including stand-up forklifts, clamp trucks, and electric pallet jacks, to move materials safely and efficiently within the warehouse.
  • Load and unload goods from trucks, ensuring proper stacking and securing of items to prevent damage during transport.
  • Use RF scanners and other warehouse technology to accurately pick orders and update inventory records in real time.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on forklifts and equipment to ensure operational safety and report any malfunctions.
