Field Welder/Fabricators

D7 Pneumatics LLC is seeking skilled Field Welders / Fabricators to support installation, repair, and modification work inside active sawmill facilities. This position focuses primarily on stick welding (SMAW) and field fabrication of handrails, catwalks, structural supports, and access platforms.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in industrial environments, capable of reading field measurements, and able to fabricate safely and efficiently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform stick welding (SMAW) in field environments

• Fabricate and install handrails, catwalks, and access platforms

• Measure, cut, fit, and assemble structural steel components

• Interpret basic fabrication drawings and field sketches

• Modify existing structures to meet safety and operational requirements

• Work safely inside active sawmill environments

• Maintain welding equipment and fabrication tools

• Follow company safety procedures and site-specific safety requirements

• Coordinate with supervisors, mill personnel, and project teams

• Travel to job sites as required

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of stick welding (SMAW) experience (industrial preferred)

• Experience fabricating handrails, catwalks, or similar steel structures

• Ability to work safely in active industrial/sawmill environments

• Ability to read tape measures and perform accurate field measurements

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights when required

• Reliable transportation to job sites

• Strong attention to safety and detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in sawmills or lumber processing facilities

• Experience with structural steel layout and installation

• Ability to read fabrication drawings or blueprints

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

• Experience operating basic fabrication equipment (grinders, torches, magnetic drills, etc.)

Work Environment

This position requires work in:

• Active sawmill production environments

• Elevated work areas and catwalks

• Outdoor and indoor industrial conditions

• Hot, cold, dusty, and high-noise environments

Proper PPE is required at all times.

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

• Lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs

• Climb ladders and access elevated platforms

• Stand for extended periods

• Work in confined or tight fabrication areas when required
