Job Summary 

 

We are seeking a Production Planner to join our team in the Medical Business at our Attleboro, MA site.


The Production Planner ensures efficient production and distribution of products by planning, scheduling, and prioritizing operations to maximize performance while minimizing delays. This role is responsible for coordinating production schedules, managing inventory accuracy, supporting forecasting activities, maintaining ERP system data, and ensuring timely movement of materials and products throughout the manufacturing process. The Production Planner works closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Shipping to support customer requirements and operational objectives.


Main Responsibilities 

 

  • Create the Production Schedule as needed daily to meet customer and operational requirements. 
  • Utilize ERP system reports to forecast production demand and recommend scheduling priorities. 
  • Create and release jobs in the ERP system for all manufacturing operations as required. 
  • Maintain accurate production, inventory, and transaction records within the ERP system.
  • Partner with production, procurement, customer service, and management to prioritize and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Develop and Apply forecasting activities, material planning, and production capacity planning.
  • Liaise on production disruptions and productivity problems and recommend solutions to maintain or mitigate impact to the schedule.
  • Maintain and adjust ERP inventory records as needed.
  • Perform cycle counts bi-annually and inventory audits as needed to ensure inventory accuracy. 
  • Assist with receiving materials, including resist and other production supplies, and ensure proper ERP accuracy. 
  • Monitor inventory levels and support inventory control initiatives. 
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to ensure sufficient inventory and operational supplies are available to meet production demands.
  • Help coordinate RMA, Engineering, rework and specialized processes. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve scheduling, inventory, and material availability issues. 
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to planning, scheduling, inventory control, and ERP processes. 
  • Foster collaboration with supplier partners to meet dynamic production and customer needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications 

 

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field
  • 3+ years of production planning, inventory control, scheduling, manufacturing, or related experience
  • Manufacturing, production, logistics, inventory management, or supply chain operations
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • ERP, inventory management, or production planning certification(s). Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and inventory management tools
  • Intermediate - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Effective prioritization and multitasking abilities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong administrative and recordkeeping skills
  • Ability to analyze reports and make scheduling recommendations
  • Initiative and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
