Bascom Hunter Technologies Inc. is looking for a detail-oriented and technically proficient Manufacturing Technician to support our manufacturing team in the fabrication, testing, and troubleshooting of systems and components. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about hands-on work and have a strong foundation in engineering & manufacturing principles.

The ideal candidate will have experience in automotive or aircraft repair, troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems, control systems or HVAC systems

Bascom Hunter provides solutions to the Department of Defense (DoD) and Aerospace markets across various disciplines. Our Power and Controls Group currently provides products and services that focus on Vapor Cycle Systems and associated subassemblies such as fans, heat exchangers, motors, electronic control units and motor drives.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing and assembly of electro-mechanical systems including compressors, fans, electronic control units and cables/harnesses.
  • Build and assemble prototype Vapor Cycle Systems (HVAC), fans and controllers while adhering to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform testing and validation of systems and components to ensure quality, functionality, reliability, and compliance with standards.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with feedback to the engineering team for recommended solutions to resolve technical problems encountered during testing or production.
  • Maintain accurate records of test results, equipment calibration and prototype units under test.
  • Support procurement, vendor management and inventory management for materials and components. 
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in design and testing procedures.
  • Document all steps in the production & testing process to create work instructions.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when working with equipment and hazardous materials.
  • Utilize a variety of equipment and tools for building and testing prototypes.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to production and manufacturing teams as needed.
  • Maintain and provide continuous improvement opportunities to senior leadership as they are identified. 

 Requirements

  • 3 to 8 years in a manufacturing environment or a related field is preferred.
  • US Citizenship required with the ability to maintain a DoD security clearance
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Hands-on experience with various hand tools and electrical testing equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes in the field of manufacturing 
  • Willingness to learn and use CAD software as needed to support the engineering team.
