Sonic Summary

info
  • The xIL ADAS Modeling and VIL Engineer will focus on the design, modeling, and integration of xIL platforms for testing and validation within the software engineering organization.
  • This role requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Key responsibilities include developing environmental models, integrating sensor models, and ensuring the readiness and interoperability of xIL integration.
  • The position emphasizes scenario-based testing in virtual environments and the management of Vehicle in the Loop platforms, particularly for the ADAS domain.
  • The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.

The xIL ADAS Modeling and VIL Engineer will work for design, modeling and integration of xIL platforms for different domains testing and validation within the SW engineering organization, ensuring seamless integration with vehicle systems and validation frameworks.

The focus will be to develop and maintain environment and traffic models which support all xIL projects across various vehicle programs, enabling xIL platforms to perform testing and validation in a virtual environment (with one of the main focus on ADAS domain), and to make the Vehicle in the Loop platform operational for the validation requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analysis, development and validation of environmental models; standalone testing, integration with other model components of all xIL platforms.
  • Integration in xIL environment of required sensors modelization (radars, cameras, …).
  • Integration of Map data, when required, and manage the development of scenarios based on collected data (ex: ADAS).
  • Guarantee readiness and interoperability for xIL integration.
  • Vehicle Integration Simulation: Execute simulations integrated with full vehicle models for functional and performance validation.
  • xIL Framework Integration: Implement and maintain integration frameworks within XIL test properties for virtual and HIL environments.
  • Ensure high reusability and simulation readiness to enable early validation, and guarantee full compatibility of the models to all xIL platforms.
  • Coordinate the development of test scenarios to run in the virtual environment, collecting all the scenarios already in-house, and supporting creating new ones according to additional testing needs.
  • Build and manage virtual scenarios creation for xIL platorms, granting the execution of scenario-based testing.
  • Design, setup and maintain Vehicle in The Loop platform, leveraging the simulation expertise of the Team to build a virtual environment around the vehicle, enhancing vehicle testing of ADAS domain.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of overall related experience
  • Simulation and modeling skillset
  • Scenario-based testing skillset in virtual environment (SIL, HIL, VIL)
  • Basic knowledge of sensor set included in ADAS domain (camera, radars, Lidar,..) and modeling techniques to emulate them in xIL environment
  • Working level knowledge of xIL tools and methodologies:
    • Physical Plant (Vehicle modeling) Modelling and Virtual ECU Simulation
    • Simulation techniques: traffic models, sensor models, real-time systems
    • Integration of MIL/SIL models
    • Ability to contribute to Agile Development Teams
  • Strong interpersonal communication, team/leadership skills/experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Execution of closed-loop simulation (preferred on HIL), for execution on VIL
  • Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink toolset (dSPACE and/or IPG toolset is a plus)
