Description

Overall Expectations for All Levels:

  • Utilize appropriate PPE at all times and follow processes
  • Prioritize quality of production components 
  • Work to meet all due dates for components and customer shipments
  • Work effectively to meet standard rates and weekly production targets
  • Follow Plex process, inventory management, best practices and company policies
  • Maintain clean and organized work area
  • Manage containment of resins to avoid drops on tools, equipment, facilities
  • Conduct operations in methodical and organized manner
  • Clean all work areas immediately after operations completed

Duties/Essential Job Functions:

  1. Handle resins, epoxies, chemicals, carbon and composite materials with appropriate care, safety and to preserve the quality of the materials and eliminating contamination, foreign debris and disruption of the weave pattern.
  2. Part trimming and bond preparation
  3. Using hand and power tools to trim overmold edges
  4. Precisely scuffing the molded surface to a prescribed location for bond prep
  5. Part bonding using appropriate adhesive application, part location techniques to avoid adhesive film disruption, and cleaning of excess squeeze out; 
  6. Assist in the layup and curing of carbon fiber materials using pre-preg and wet layup techniques.
  7. Perform some lower complexity layups without assistance
  8. Prepare molds and tools for composite layup (cleaning, applying release agents)
  9. Maintains layup tooling / layup fixtures for operational readiness
  10. Properly trims (deflashes) material / foam
  11. Understands how to properly handle and store raw material and layup parts
  12. Understands proper prepreg layup techniques to avoid air pockets ad surface defects
  13. Cut prepreg or dry fiber materials using templates or CAD patterns
  14. Demold and handle parts using proper care and PPE
  15. Record basic production data
  16. All other duties as assigned
