Position: CNC Machinist
Schedule: Day Shift (Monday- Friday 6a-4:45p + Saturday 6a-12p) Night Shift (Monday- Friday 4p-3:45a)
Summary of Position
A CNC Machinist is a skilled manufacturing role responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining computer‑controlled machining equipment to produce precision components that meet strict engineering and quality requirements.
Essential Functions
Daily roles include collaborating in a team-oriented environment with cross functional workers.
- Set-up and operate CNC machines to produce custom tooling/parts using various materials, ensuring adherence to customer specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and replace any tool heads as needed.
- Load raw materials into CNC machine to produce parts.
- Read and interpret technical blueprints and design models.
- Monitor machine operation to detect any problems or errors, make recommendations.
- Adhere to all safety standards and regulations including appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Inspect finished products using precision measuring equipment (calipers, gages, and micrometers) to ensure they meet required tolerances and specifications.
- Document and report any issues or irregularities that may arise during the machining process.
- Collaborate with other machinists and team members to troubleshoot and solve production issues.
- Continuously improves skills and knowledge through training and experience to increase productivity and efficiency.
- Must be able to achieve quality and production goals.
- Use hand tools, inspection tools and machinery as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
- Experience with CNC machines specifically 3 and 5 axis.
- Attention to detail, quality and safety mindset.
- Basic blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
- Understanding the relationship of speeds and feeds with various materials.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and computer skills.
- Problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to take direction and work as a team.
- Must have the ability to operate industrial trucks, and overhead cranes.
- High School Diploma or recognized equivalent.
