This role supports coordination between the Purchasing function and some Program teams (Engineering / Manufacturing / Cost Engineering) to support all vehicle platforms. This includes responsibility of a dedicated perimeter, supporting the Program Purchasing Manager during development by managing Cost Collaboration of the Change Management Process with stakeholders (including suppliers) through NA IT system.
The mission is to connect internal and external partners to make Change Management governance the quickest and most efficient (cost / technical change) possible for the company.
This Cost Collaboration- Lead role will align to our regional NA structure and report to the NA Cost Manager. This role is critical to improve efficiency and cost control for programs during the vehicle development plan throughout production life cycle.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
- Lead a commodity specific team in daily activities, process compliance, and throughput improvement initiatives.
- Support the team with supplier negotiations related to engineering changes by understanding cost assessments to ensure cost and timing align with program targets.
- Ensure engineering changes are collaborated on time and escalate issues as needed through the appropriate escalation path.
- Support cross-functional meetings with the team and identify the internal and external stakeholders needed to resolve roadblocks.
- Conduct routine audits to confirm performance reports are accurate.
- Stay current on industry trends and advancements within the assigned perimeter of responsibility.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university or a bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or related field from an accredited university with 8 years of experience
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and resourceful, with the ability to manage conflict and complex assignments effectively.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
- Result oriented with the ability to guide cross-functional teams across regional and global environments.
- Strong communication skills required, with the ability to effectively interface with all levels of management.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to think strategically and act decisively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Program Management Certification
- Engineering change management knowledge/experience
