HAVENWYCK HOSPITAL (a UHS facility)

 

Havenwyck Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited and licensed psychiatric hospital, overlooking Lake Galloway in Auburn Hills, Michigan. We specialize in providing comprehensive, compassionate behavioral health services to children, adolescents and adults. It is the ultimate goal of our dedicated staff to build strength, confidence and knowledge within each patient, in hopes that they may continue learning and understanding their needs and practicing self-care for the rest of their lives.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Food Service Specialist is responsible for the sanitation of the department as well as the patient, visitor and employee food service areas. The Food Service Specialist performs a variety of routine duties to serve the patients, visitors, and employee’s meals and to clean and sanitize work areas, dishes, equipment, utensils, and pots and pans. This position reports to the Cook in the absence of the Dietary Director and/or Supervisor.

 

Duties and responsibilities, to include; but are not limited to:

  • Arranges, delivers, and picks up food, dishes, and supplies from the serving areas including the Residential Center location.
  • Serves patients, visitors and staff meals and replenishes food and supplies as needed.
  • Portions food as directed by the Cook , Dietary Director or Supervisor.
  • Stores food and supplies following department procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • Six months of work experience in food service preferred.
  • Provision of satisfactory motor vehicle operation report (for Dish room job routine) required
