JOB SUMMARY
Provide support and services related to IQC (incoming quality control). Ensure that components from supplier meet specifications through the utilization of drawings, inspection standards, measurement tools and visual aids. Accurately document and report quality data ensuring adherence to the Quality policy and Quality Management System.
ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as impartial judge between supplier and internal customer facility to ensure the product meets the set criteria
- Use measurement and test equipment to perform inspections and complete required documentation
- Responsible for collecting, documenting, and reporting accurate inspection records
- Read and follow work instructions and general process
- Listen and follow verbal instructions
- Must clarify ambiguous instruction with site supervisor or measurement specialist
- Ensure products meet quality standards
- Communicates well with site supervisor or measurement specialist
- Communicates well with coworkers and expresses ideas and opinions in a fashion that promotes team work
- Learns from co-workers, and also shares knowledge with co-workers to promote best results, high quality and efficiency for the company
- Support component sorting when suspect material is identified
- Any other tasks requested from time-to-time and those required to be done to support a successful project
- Track quality lab equipment/tooling calibration dates and arrange for required calibrations as required
- Follow procedures to identify and locate suspect material when necessary
- Be aware of and work to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPl's) set by the team
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have familiarity with quality systems and inspection tools knowledge
- Knowledge and ability to learn to use measuring equipment, such as calipers, height gage, microscope, or dedicated test machinery
- Basic GD&T, R&R concepts preferred
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in fast paced environment or quickly changing to other tasks when needed
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, bend, lift, twist and move freely
- Must be able to handle large parts or boxes and periodically lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work equally well in teams or independently
- Strong team player that demonstrates respect and consideration for team members
- Demonstrates attention to detail. Is reliable and dependable
- Ability to read blueprints is a plus

QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Comply with requirements of the Quality Operating System (QOS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2008
- Identify concerns and initiate corrective actions (through verification) relating to product, process and quality systems
- Initiate preventative and continuous improvement actions relating to product, process and quality systems
HEALTH & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- Follow safe work procedures established by the Company; and follow the OH&S directions of the head of your department or supervisor
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety systems
- Where PPE is required to control exposure to hazards in the workplace, wear and maintain the PPE as directed, as indicated in a risk assessment, or as required in OH&S procedures
- Use other safety and emergency equipment provided in the workplace as directed or as required in OH&S procedures
- Assist with the preparation of risk assessments
- Before commencing work or research, a risk assessment should be conducted to identify, assess and control the hazards associated with the work or research. This should be conducted in conjunction with other relevant staff, researchers and the supervisor
- Report OH&S problems
- Report workplace hazards to the supervisor as soon as possible after they occur
- Report injury or illness arising from workplace activities using the incident/injury reporting system as soon as possible after the incident
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
- Complete monthly H&S inspections
