We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Photographer to join our vehicle engineering team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting engineering projects by capturing high-quality still photographs and high-speed video footage of vehicles, components, and testing processes. This position requires technical expertise in photography and videography, a collaborative approach, and the ability to work in a dynamic industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture clear, high-resolution still photographs of vehicles, prototypes, assemblies, and engineering tests for documentation, analysis, and presentation purposes.
  • Operate high-speed video cameras to record vehicle tests and dynamic events, ensuring critical moments are captured for detailed engineering review.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and project managers to understand specific imaging requirements and adapt techniques to best support engineering objectives.
  • Set up and calibrate lighting, backdrops, and camera equipment in laboratory, workshop, and outdoor environments to achieve optimal image quality.
  • Edit, process, and catalog photographic and video assets, ensuring accurate labeling and secure storage for future reference and compliance needs.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot photographic and video equipment, including high-speed cameras, lenses, lighting, and supporting hardware.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies during all photographic activities within industrial and test environments.
  • Support presentations, reports, and technical publications by providing visual content that effectively communicates engineering findings and solutions.

 

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree in photography, Visual Arts, Media Production, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in industrial, automotive, or technical photography, with a strong portfolio demonstrating still photographs and high-speed video work.
  • Proficiency with DSLR/mirrorless cameras, high-speed video cameras, and image/video editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro).
  • Understanding of vehicle engineering processes, testing environments, and the unique challenges of industrial photography.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Physical ability to safely operate equipment and work in industrial settings (e.g., standing for long periods, lifting equipment, working outdoors).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in photography, Visual Arts, Media Production, or a related field
  • Experience with specialized imaging techniques such as time-lapse, macro, and infrared photography.
  • Familiarity with data security and digital asset management practices.
  • Background in engineering, automotive testing, or related technical fields.
