The candidate will be responsible for the virtual development of vehicle thermal systems with a focus on powertrain Cooling, HVAC performance and cabin comfort. This role includes 1D thermal simulation, control strategy modeling, and system integration across multiple platforms. The engineer will support the hardware team in component sizing (heat exchangers, fans, compressors), run transient simulations, and collaborate closely with physical testing teams to validate and correlate models. Expertise in CAD and virtual engineering tools (GT standardization of simulation methods, technical mentoring, and reporting to global teams.

 

Job Description: 

  • The PRS simulation and analysis Engineer is responsible for using and developing proprietary models to size the vehicle thermal system; 
  • The Simulation Engineer is responsible for the integration of basic control logics of thermal actuators;  
  • Creates and uses pre-processing and post-processing tools and provide support program management;  
  • Compare the model results with test data and correlate the model accordingly;  
  • Communication of the results in oral presentations and written reports to Chief Engineers, COEs, Component Engineers and others including Powertrain management is required and a must 
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:  

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, Applied Physics, or related Engineering field)  
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product development (preferably in the automotive area) simulating hybrid and/or electrified propulsion systems  
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft or Google office products 

 

Strongly Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Advanced proficiency in 1D CFD simulation and control system modeling (GT Suite, Amesim, MATLAB/Simulink). 
  • Deep understanding of 3D CFD analysis (STAR CCM) 
  • Deep understanding of vehicle thermal management and cabin comfort. 
  • Deep understanding of powertrain cooling for BEV xEV and ICE vehicle. 
  • Strong background in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and transient system analysis. 
  • Virtual Engineering experience. 
  • Method development and validation for system-level simulation. 
  • Involvement in physical testing and model correlation. 
  • Effective communication and reporting to global engineering stakeholders.
