Overview

The Graduate Student Assistant will work collaboratively with marketing communications staff to support writing, creating, and editing digital communications for internal and external audiences, as well as print marketing and promotional materials. Responsibilities include creative content development and strategic, careful implementation of storytelling across press releases, e-newsletters, and social media channels. Assist in creating and editing relevant media such as video, photography, and graphics for these and other communications projects.


Responsibilities

  • Works under close and direct supervision of the Marketing Communications specialist to tell student, alumni and faculty stories, utilizing various mediums that highlight their experiences with graduate education and research.
  •  Coordinates with stakeholders to create content – both written and visual – highlighting the features and benefits of graduate programs.
  • Leverages existing web content in graduate school digital marketing channels, including email marketing and social media platforms.
  • Edits marketing messaging, photography, graphics, and video footage to create succinct, engaging digital content for use in various media, including but not limited to the Graduate School website, social media channels, and email marketing

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a graduate degree in communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Academic background and/or work experience in communications, marketing, graphic design, social media management or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability in Adobe Creative Cloud suite, Microsoft Office suite, social media platforms
  • Demonstrated ability in storytelling and/or writing


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience creating and editing photography, graphics, and/or video
  • Familiarity and/or experience with email marketing software, social media scheduling platforms, and/or content management software programs.
