At Denkavit USA in Auburn, the Electro-Mchanical Technician plays a key hands-on role in ensuring equipment reliability, safe operations, and optimal production continuity.
Position Summary
The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and improving electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated equipment within a manufacturing or industrial facility. This role supports production operations by ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and promoting a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, motors, drives, PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, relays, and control circuits.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical components including bearings, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, chains, belts, and power transmission systems.
- Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Install, test, and commission new machinery and production equipment.
- Calibrate and maintain instrumentation, sensors, and controls.
- Perform root cause analysis to identify and eliminate recurring equipment failures.
- Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work orders, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to optimize equipment performance.
- Maintain an organized work area and ensure proper inventory of maintenance parts and supplies.

Required Qualifications
- Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
- 2+ years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or electro-mechanical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical controls, motors, VFDs, PLCs, and industrial automation systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
- Proficiency in reading electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters and calibrators.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
- Experience with robotics, automated systems, and vision systems.
- Certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or Electrical Technology.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse environments.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or rotating shifts as required.
- Ability to safely work at heights and in confined spaces when necessary.
