Milestone Funeral Partners is seeking an experienced and proactive HR Generalist - Integrations to support the successful integration of newly acquired businesses and employees into our growing organization. About the Role
The HR Generalist - Integrations plays a key role in welcoming newly acquired businesses and employees into Milestone Funeral Partners. You'll support the people-related aspects of acquisitions from pre-close preparation through employees' first 90 days with Milestone, with a particular focus on compensation analysis, onboarding, onsite integration activities, and post-close HR support.
Working closely with Human Resources, Integrations, Operations, Payroll & Benefits, Recruiting, Finance, IT, and other partners, you'll help ensure employee transitions are accurate, organized, welcoming, and consistent with Milestone's culture and practices.
This is a highly hands-on role for an HR professional who is analytical, exceptionally organized, comfortable working with employee data, and confident building relationships with employees and leaders during periods of change. The position is hybrid with frequent travel throughout the United States, up to approximately 75% depending on acquisition activity.
What You'll Do
Support compensation analysis for employees joining Milestone through acquisitions, including reviewing employee census, payroll, compensation, benefits, and related workforce data
Conduct market compensation research and benchmarking and help identify compensation discrepancies, unusual pay practices, and other items requiring review
Assist with translating existing compensation practices into clear and sustainable Milestone compensation structures and prepare employment documentation based on approved terms
Coordinate and execute onboarding for employees joining Milestone through acquisitions, serving as a primary HR point of contact throughout the transition
Partner with Payroll & Benefits and other HR teams to ensure employee information is accurate and complete for payroll, benefits, HRIS, and onboarding
Prepare and communicate offer letters, onboarding materials, benefits information, policies, and other employee resources
Provide hands-on onsite support during acquisition closings and employee transitions, including assisting employees with HR systems, paperwork, benefits, policies, and general HR questions
Serve as a dedicated HR resource for newly integrated employees during their first 90 days, conducting proactive check-ins and helping employees navigate Milestone's policies, systems, benefits, and ways of working
Maintain integration plans, trackers, employee rosters, checklists, and other documentation while coordinating HR deliverables across multiple concurrent acquisitions
Partner cross-functionally with Integrations, Operations, Payroll & Benefits, Recruiting, Finance, IT, and other teams to identify needs, resolve issues, and continuously improve the HR integration process
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in an HR Generalist, Compensation, Total Rewards, HR Operations, or similar role
Hands-on experience with compensation analysis, market pricing, benchmarking, or internal equity analysis
Experience supporting employee onboarding and HRIS/payroll processes
Strong Excel skills and comfort working with employee, payroll, and compensation data
Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and workstreams simultaneously
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish trust and communicate HR information clearly and compassionately during periods of change
Sound judgment and the ability to work independently while recognizing when issues require escalation
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive employee and business information
Willingness and ability to travel frequently throughout the United States, including overnight and multi-day travel as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, organizational transitions, or multi-location businesses
Experience working in a geographically dispersed organization
SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification
Experience in a fast-paced, growing organization where priorities and information can evolve quickly
