Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the maintenance and repair of facility equipment and machinery to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs using standard hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment. Technicians will gain hands-on experience while developing their technical skills. After completing 8,000 work hours or obtaining 10 years of documented skilled trades experience, employees are required to apply for their Journeyman’s card.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Participate in required training programs and continue developing technical knowledge and skills.
Perform maintenance and upkeep of machinery, equipment, and facility systems following established procedures.
Complete repairs and preventive maintenance tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
Develop a broad technical skill set including mechanical systems, electrical components, plumbing, PLCs, robotics, blueprint reading, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
Work flexible shifts and overtime as needed to support operational demands.
Assist with additional duties as assigned that support maintenance and production operations.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.
A minimum of three years of technical or hands-on maintenance experience is preferred.

Required Skills and Abilities

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to participate in a panel-style interview process.
Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment.
Willingness to continue learning through training, certifications, and skill development opportunities.

Make decisions within established guidelines related to equipment maintenance and repair.
Communicate with internal teams and external partners to provide support and answer technical questions.
Assess the quality and performance of equipment and parts through testing and inspection.
Collaborate with engineering and management teams to support production goals and new projects.

Working Conditions

Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection in production areas.
Work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise and occasional exposure to dust.
Maintain awareness of safety procedures, including forklift operations.
Frequently stand for extended periods and regularly lift up to 30 pounds.
