Overview

Auburn University's Harrison College of Pharmacy (HCOP) is pleased to announce an opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow with an interest in substance use disorders for our Center for Opioid Research, Education, and Outreach (COACH). Responsibilities

  • This is a full-time (40 hrs./wk), 12-month position located on-site in Auburn or Huntsville, AL
  • With minimal supervision, contribute to the day-to-day research mission of the Center for Opioid Research, Education, and Outreach (COACH) https://auburncoach.org.
  • Contribute to the production and preparation of research reports, manuscripts, grant proposals, and other documentation relevant to the work of the Center.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of COACH’s K-12 Drug Prevention Curriculum.
  • In conjunction with Center-affiliated faculty, assist in the coordination of the Center’s outreach activities, community events, and healthcare professional training.

Qualifications

  • Completed Ph.D. from a regionally accredited institution in nursing, psychology, behavioral health, neuroscience, sociology, social work, public health, health outcomes, adult education, counseling education, elementary or secondary education, educational administration, kinesiology, or a related field at time of employment.
  • The candidates selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. Visa sponsorship will not be provided.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Potential to become an independent researcher as documented by academic publications, presentations and posters, participation in funding proposals,
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills, a strong focus on teamwork, collaboration, mentoring, and collegiality, and excellent project management skills.

Applicants who possess the following are desired:

  • Prior experience in a substance use disorders field.
  • Flexibility to travel in support of Center related activities.
  • Fluency in English.
