JOB SUMMARY
As part of our recent growth, we are seeking an experienced Machine Parts Programmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will develop numerical control programs to guide contour-path machining of metal parts on automatic machine tools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze drawings, sketches, and design data to determine dimensions, configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and appropriate machine speeds and feed rates.
- Determine reference points and the direction of machine cutting paths.
- Compute angular and linear dimensions, radii, curvatures, and outline the sequence of operations required to machine parts.
- Write instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide machine setup and operation.
- Program machine instructions in symbolic language for numerical control tape or direct numerical control databases to regulate machine movement along cutting paths.
- Revise programs to eliminate instruction errors or omissions and observe trial runs to verify programmed instructions.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Manufacturing and Quality Assurance staff, to resolve issues and meet customer specifications.
- Follow all company safety guidelines, including the proper use of safety equipment and procedures.
- Work independently while concentrating for long periods and tolerating regular interruptions throughout the day.
- Develop and maintain constructive, cooperative working relationships.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Skilled in Mastercam for milling applications.
- Familiarity with CAD, 3D modeling software, and/or Vericut.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to the aerospace industry.
- Ability to read and interpret aerospace drawings, specifications, and documents.
- Strong problem-solving skills: able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, able to work in a team environment and collaborate with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles.
- Ability to follow directions from leads and supervisors, and provide guidance to others when needed.
- Comfortable working in a shared office environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English through verbal communication, American Sign Language, or adaptive technology

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent and applicable training classes for programming.
- Five (5) years CNC machine operation experience.
- Five (5) years of CAD/CAM experience.

Salary Range: $28.00-$45.00
