Overview

The RFID Lab at Auburn University is looking for motivated, hard-working, and detail-oriented students from various disciplines to perform RFID in-store testing and audits. This position will primarily involve fieldwork at local partner locations. Fieldwork includes activities such as: RFID tag audits, barcode audits, RFID cycle counts.


Responsibilities

  • Perform data collection tests to investigate the performance of large-scale RFID deployments.
  • The team's responsibilities include RFID tagging items in a retail environment and then doing tests with an RFID reader to determine the quality and readability of the tags.
  • Performing in-store barcode/inventory audits.
  • Participation in in-lab demonstrations and testing when necessary
  • Students may occasionally travel to partner locations outside of the Auburn/Opelika area

Qualifications

  • Enrolled student at Auburn University
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from partner locations outside of regular business hours
  • Must have the ability to work weekends and weekday evenings

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Technically capable with ability to quickly become familiar with new hardware, software, and processes.
