This position will work between 8 to 10-hour days on Saturday and Sunday between 6:30am and 4:00pm and will be required to work holidays. More days will be added depending on holiday schedule.Â
Responsibilities
- Independently perform a variety of animal care husbandry duties like feeding, watering, and grooming
- Cleaning the nursery
- Assist with animal treatments according to prescribed instruction
- Update health/treatment records
- Maternal care of dams and neonatal care of puppies
- Transport animals to appointments
- May assist in canine whelping
- May participate in canine exercise and enrichment activities
Qualifications
- Enrolled student at Auburn University
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be 18 years old
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Have a current tetanus shot
- Be able to lift 50+ pounds
- Previous canine kennel care preferred
- Previous canine breeding and whelping experience preferred
