Overview

Auburn University’s Office of Communications and Marketing is looking for a talented student writer. In this role, you’ll gain real-world experience, research and write university-level stories, and work alongside communications and marketing professionals every day.


Responsibilities

  • Interview people from across campus 
  • Write newsresearch and feature stories for Auburn’s website, and print and digital publications 
  • Help tell stories about groundbreaking research, academics, the student experience and Auburn traditions 
  • Attend and write about events happening around campus 
  • Work with photographers, designers and communicators to bring stories to life 
  • Pitch your own ideas 
  • Learn what it’s like to work in a communications and marketing office

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
  • Major in journalism, communications, public relations, English, marketing or related

  • Inquisitive and enjoys interviewing students, faculty, staff and alumni
