 FAST Global Solutions is seeking a Welder on Night Shift for our Auburn, NE location, with a Sign-On Bonus of $2,500.


Night Shift Hours:   Monday - Thursday, 4:30 pm - 3:00 am

Job summary:   

 

Performs a variety of welding functions and familiar with and capable of using various types of welding equipment. Required to perform other miscellaneous tasks as supervision deems necessary.

 

Job duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Reads and interprets blueprints and machine drawings to determine specific welding requirements.
  • Connects cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as specified by engineer.
  • Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld and size of molten puddle.
  • Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions.
  • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
  • Repairs broken or cracked parts and fills holes.
  • Positions and clamps workpieces together or assembles them in jig or fixtures.
  • Selects torch, torch tip, filler ford and flux, according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of material.
  • Tacks assemblies together.
  • Chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter.
  • Cleans or de-greases parts.
  • Move parts in and moves finished product out of welding area.

 

Job Requirements:

  • A qualified candidate will have a high school diploma, GED, or at least 1-3 months related experience.  
  • Must have basic language and math skills and reasoning ability.  
  • Should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software.
  • Must be able to stand and walk continuously and reach/bend frequently over the course of a 10 hour shift. 
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.  
  • Must have manual dexterity and be able to maintain a frequent firm grasp. 
  • Must be able to operate a foot pedal for machine operation.
  • Must be able to pass a physical strength test to perform the job.  
  • Vision with depth perception is required.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and levels of humidity.
  • Personal protective equipment will be provided by FAST and must be worn in the required areas.
