Job Description

Our Desk Property Adjuster handles first party personal property and commercial property claims through the life-cycle including but not limited to: investigation, evaluation and claim resolution. The purpose of this position is to provide service to agents, insureds and others to ensure claims resolve accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate first party personal property and commercial property assigned claims, confirm coverage, verify damages, and determine liability where applicable
  • Take loss reports directly from insureds and/or claimants and/or their representatives
  • Assist with claims related phone calls and handle incoming correspondence
  • Evaluate and settle assigned claims based upon investigative results
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability for the complete claims adjusting cycle in accordance with Business Unit and Company procedures for assigned claims including:
    • Loss Reporting
    • Initial Claim Handling
    • Investigation and Damage Verification
    • Estimate Preparation
    • Ability to Review, Understand and Negotiate from Independent Adjusters’ Reports
    • Setting and Recommending Reserves
    • Negotiation and Settlement of Claims
    • File Administration

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but may be waived by Company appropriate experience.
  • Experience writing estimates with Xactimate and XactContents preferred
  • 2-3+ years’ experience investigating and resolving first party property claims
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills via in person, on the phone, and in electronic interactions
  • Excellent understanding and skill level of claim handling and customer service
  • Strong willingness and ability to learn
  • Possess or ability to timely secure and maintain multi-line adjuster’s license(s) as required

Compensation

We are dedicated to fair and competitive total compensation package that supports the wellbeing and success of our associates. In addition to this, we offer other components like bonus opportunities. For this position, the anticipated annualized starting base pay range is: $70,000 - $80,000.
