Overview

Auburn University Libraries is seeking applicants for the position of Graduate Student Assistant to assist in the upkeep of the AlabamaMosaic website. The student should be interested in digital humanities, a branch of study that marries humanities research and sources with computing skills and methods.

AlabamaMosaic (http://alabamamosaic.org/) is a public repository of digital materials on Alabama's history, culture, places, and people. Its purpose is to make unique historical treasures from Alabama's archives, libraries, museums, and other repositories electronically accessible to Alabama residents and to students, researchers, and the general public in other states and countries. The project collects metadata and links from online archives across Alabama to create a single-search site for primary source documents relating to Alabama history.

The selected student may work up to 10 hours per week, depending on operational needs. Work hours are scheduled between 7:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m., Monday through Friday.
