The Scientist I should be a highly-motivated individual with a graduate degree and 2+ years of laboratory experience in academic or industrial setting, or BS in Chemistry with 5 years of laboratory experience in an industrial setting. The Scientist I will take guidance and direction from the Principal Investigator/R&D Manager to effectively support and advance research programs. The Scientist I will be required to conduct practical experiments in the areas of chemical synthesis, polymer chemistry, and/or materials science in order to create chemicals for product development and application testing. The Scientist I should have experience in following synthetic procedures to effectively and reproducibly produce, isolate, and purify chemicals to required yield and purity standards. The Scientist I will support product development activities by developing and producing new and existing compounds. The Scientist I will work closely with other Scientists, Principal Investigators, and Production and Process Engineers to effectively scale synthetic processes from gram-scale to multi-kilogram scale. This individual will be a valued member of the R&D team, and will be expected to provide status-updates and research progress based upon the learnings he/she develops from practical experimentation.聽
