The Maine Municipal Association is looking for a Membership Services Specialist to join the Administration team. If you are a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with data and delivers exceptional customer service, this could be the right fit for you!

In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate membership records, ensuring data quality and accessibility, and providing reporting and database support for the Association. This position serves at the primary point of contact for member inquiries related to account information, workshop registrations, and online purchases, while delivering exceptional customer service and supporting the efficient operation of membership services. 

In This Role, You Will:

  • Maintain and update MMA memberships, subscriptions, and Affiliate Group memberships to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Process annual membership renewals. Assist with member data collection and management.
  • Generate reports and provide data support for membership status, workshops, and usage of MMA services/programs.
  • Serve as a resource for members by responding to inquiries regarding membership, workshop registrations, and related services.
  • Provide user support and training for the membership database application.
  • Conduct data quality reviews, assist with audits, and maintain database procedures and documentation.
  • Assists with staffing the registration desk and other tasks assigned at MMA's annual Convention.

What you Bring: 

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of membership or records management.
  • Strong customer service, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to generate reports, maintain data quality, and support information management processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare correspondence, respond to inquiries, and provide user training.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with members and staff.
  • Ability to learn and apply organizational policies, procedures, and departmental requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Desired Experience and Training:

  • Minimum of Associate of Science or related degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Must be detail-oriented and have exceptional customer service skills.
