Cincinnati Children's is seeking a Senior Ventures Consultant to help evaluate, shape, and advance high-potential innovation assets into credible venture opportunities. This role sits at the intersection of science, commercialization, market diligence, startup formation, and institutional venture development.Ā
What You Will DoĀ
Evaluate high-conviction venture opportunities that have passed institutional triage and viability review.Ā
Conduct technical, market, competitive, and financial diligence for early venture opportunities.Ā
Translate scientific and clinical innovation into business cases, venture models, and investor-ready narratives.Ā
Assess commercialization pathways for therapeutics, biologics, cell and gene therapy, smallĀ molecule, and related life science assets.Ā
Prepare diligence materials and recommendations that support go or no-go decisions for venture formation and investment.Ā
Partner with licensing, portfolio, legal, finance, operations, faculty, entrepreneurs-in-residence, and venture leadership to move opportunities towardĀ NewCoĀ formation or institutional separation.Ā
Support pitch preparation, financial scenarios, investor materials, and early go-to-market thinking.Ā
What Will Help You Be SuccessfulĀ
Ability to evaluate both the scientific/technical basis and the commercial potential of life science assets.Ā
Comfort discussing cap tables, valuation mechanics, capital pathways, and investor fit.Ā
Experience building or stress-testing early business cases, market sizing, competitive positioning, and value creation narratives.Ā
Confidence presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders and decision-making groups.Ā
Ability to work independently in a newer, evolving venture development structure.Ā
Job QualificationsĀ
Bachelor's degree in business, life sciences, engineering, orĀ a relatedĀ field.Ā
7+ years of progressively responsible experience in startup formation, venture development, commercialization, venture capital, or innovation-driven operating environments.Ā
Preferred QualificationsĀ
Master of Business Administration (MBA).Ā
Experience with startup formation, venture capital, or early-stage commercialization.Ā
Helpful experience includes pharma, biotech, therapeutics, biologics, cell and gene therapy, business development, technology transfer, venture analysis, or early-stage life science company formation.Ā
Exposure to diligence for IP-backed venture opportunities,Ā NewCoĀ formation, capitalization models, governance readiness, and investor materials.Ā
