Site Safety and Health Officer
Augusta, GA
Responsibilities
Reports to the Project Manager for project/operational issues and administratively to the Division Safety Director.
Assist with the development and implementation of Activity Hazard Analyses.
Coordinates the project’s safety effort and ensures compliance with safety policies and procedures included in the Site-Specific Safety Plan.
Attends all construction meetings to provide guidance for the pre-planning of work activities, ensure that employees have required training.
Provide training to employees and subcontractors, as necessary.
Facilitate the project safety orientation program and ensure that all employees attend prior to working on-site.
Participate in project meetings with clients and subcontractors.
Attend and participate in weekly safety meetings, assist in resolving safety questions and ensure that the meetings are productive and practical.
Perform daily safety inspections of trades/work areas and correct unsafe conditions and behaviors as they are discovered. Submit a written report to the Division Safety Director on a weekly basis.
Conduct a monthly site wide safety stand-down.
Assists with accident/incident investigation. Reviews reports to ensure that investigations are complete and that preventative measures are in place.
Review all safety documentation to ensure records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures.
Issues all required permits (confined space entry, hot work, etc.) to subcontractors as necessary.
Coordinate and accompany all project safety audits by the client, owner, insurance or other safety representatives.
Requirements
Completed the OSHA 30 Hr.
USACE EM 385-1-1 experience.
Five+ years of continuous experience as a construction site safety manager.
Maintained competency through having taken 24 hours of documented training within the past 5 years.
Documented training in the following areas: fall protection, confined space entry, excavation/trenching, scaffolding, cranes and rigging, etc.
Must be a US Citizen.
