The (USA) Technician, General Facilities Maintenance, is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. This role requires expertise in multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and equipment repair, while adhering to established schedules and regulatory standards. The technician manages work orders, coordinates with contractors, and documents maintenance activities to support operational efficiency. By applying technical knowledge and best practices, this position contributes to maintaining a safe and reliable environment that supports business needs and enhances overall facility performance.

The General Facilities Maintenance team ensures Walmart locations operate smoothly and safely by performing advanced maintenance, repairs, and preventive tasks. This team collaborates to address facility needs proactively, maintaining high standards and supporting store operations. Members apply expertise across multiple crafts, mentor associates, and comply with safety and regulatory requirements. Their commitment guarantees reliable, well-maintained facilities that align with Walmart’s mission to provide exceptional experiences for customers and associates. What you'll do:
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Inspect, clean, and repair facilities equipment using multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and material handling.
  • Diagnose issues by utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, and diagnostic tools; dismantle and replace defective parts as needed.
  • Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor activities while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Document maintenance activities, track parts and equipment orders, and submit warranty claims.
  • Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and support continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll bring:
  • Proven experience in preventive and predictive maintenance for facility equipment and systems.
  • Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, plumbing, carpentry, and industrial repair techniques.
  • Skilled in interpreting blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Competence in operating hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ability to manage maintenance schedules, work orders, and contractor coordination with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations to ensure compliance and quality workmanship.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend repairs and replacements to prevent future issues.

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade or 5 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
Valid Driver's License.
Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
