Pay Information:
Internal Hires:Â Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.Â
External Hires: Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based upon relevant experience.
BHCT 2 starts at $39.86 per hour.
BHCT 3 starts at $45.82 per hour.
Job Summary:
Behavioral Health Clinical Therapist 2:Â
Position Summary: The Behavioral Health Clinical Therapist 2 provides rapid, community-based mental health crisis interventions for individuals experiencing acute behavioral, emotional, or substance use crises. This role frequently dispatches with EMS/911 and delivers psychiatric emergency services across the Emergency Department and community. The position requires advanced assessment, de-escalation, and clinical decision-making skills to ensure immediate stabilization and safety.
Behavioral Health Clinical Therapist 3:
The Behavioral Health Clinical Therapist 3 provides rapid, community-based mental health crisis interventions for individuals experiencing acute behavioral, emotional, or substance use crises. This role frequently dispatches with EMS/911 and delivers psychiatric emergency services across the Emergency Department and community. The position requires advanced assessment, de-escalation, and clinical decision-making skills to ensure immediate stabilization and safety. In addition to the core functions, this role helps develop and refine policies and procedures and conducts new and ongoing staff training.

Minimum Qualifications for the Job:
BHCT 2
Education: Masters degree in social work or behavioral sciences in a licensable discipline by the Alaska Behavioral Regulatory Board.
Experience: One (1) year of experience as a behavioral health counselor.
Certification(s): Refer to Mandatory Education Policy upon hire and complete required certifications within the grace period.
License(s): Active State of Alaska LCSW license. Â Must have a valid Driver's License.
BHCT 3
Education: Masters degree in social work or behavioral sciences in a licensable discipline by the Alaska Behavioral Regulatory Board.
Experience: Four (4) years of experience as a behavioral health counselor.
Certification(s): Refer to Mandatory Education Policy upon hire and complete required certifications within the grace period.
License(s): Active State of Alaska LCSW License. Â Must have a valid Driver's License.
