The Corporate Controller at Columbia Helicopters, Inc. is responsible for leading the company’s accounting operations and financial controls. Reporting to the CFO, this role oversees financial close processes, ensures compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and drives continuous improvement across accounting functions.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Lead monthly and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and treasury.
  • Manage fixed assets and capital expenditure processes.
  • Ensure compliance with ASC 606 (revenue recognition) and ASC 842 (lease accounting) standards.
  • Coordinate and lead external audits, including year-end audit activities.
  • Oversee payroll accounting in partnership with HR to ensure accurate processing and reporting.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and the overall accounting control environment.
  • Support debt compliance, bank reporting, and collateral audits/appraisals.
  • Oversee journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of monthly workpapers.
  • Partner with leadership to deliver financial insights, analysis, and reporting.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develop and mentor accounting team members, fostering a high-performing team.
  • Stay current on accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.


WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including:
  • Controller or Assistant Controller experience
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Experience with ERP systems, payroll, and expense management systems preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High integrity and commitment to ethical standards.
